Bahn chaos in November: Significant diversions and replacement buses threaten!
Due to extensive construction work in the Thuringian rail network, there are considerable restrictions in the local and long-distance traffic between November 8 and 22. The DB trains of line RE 1 between Göttingen and Glauchau are now operating from Erfurt, while the Halte Neudietendorf and Gotha are eliminated. For the Abellio line RB 20 between Eisenach and Erfurt, the section from Gotha to Neudietendorf is replaced by buses.
The changes are also drastic in long -distance transport. There are no more direct ICE trains on the route between Berlin and Frankfurt, but hourly connections to Wolfsburg and Kassel. The ICE trains are diverted at Erfurt, which eliminates the Halle stop. In addition, the line from Wiesbaden via Frankfurt to Dresden via Würzburg is diverted, which leads to a travel time extension of around 30 minutes. These comprehensive changes affect numerous travelers who have to adjust to alternative connections.
