An unusual case of theft in the Lahr/Emmendingen region

In the Lahr and Emmendingen region, an unusual case of burglaries dealt with the local authorities. These are deeds that apparently were committed from a special fetish. While in the past, construction site containers of burglars have always been a clearly recognizable pattern.

The determination and its results

The investigators of the Rust police station recently identified a suspect. A crucial note came from photographs that were taken in Ringsheim in July. Thanks to targeted persecution by the police, the suspect was recognized despite partial masking.

The police were able to search his place of residence by a search decision by the Freiburg public prosecutor's office. They came across 35 pairs of rubber boots, some of which could be assigned to individual thefts in the region until 2022. These boots seem to be part of the prey that was stolen to meet the special preferences of the suspect.

The meaning for the community

The case raises questions about security in the region and shows how specific motifs can influence the behavior of criminals. The investigators are now looking for other potential victims who may have been victims of a similarly stored theft, but have not filed a complaint. This could indicate that more burglaries may have taken place than are previously known.

call for help

The police therefore ask everyone who has recently become victims of clothing and rubber piefing and have not yet reported to report to the investigators on 07822-78933-0. Each note could make a decisive contribution to clarifying the case.

follow and outlook

The investigation is in full swing, but they also illustrate a general trend towards more specific motives for burglary theft. While it is often considered "normal" in society that material values are in focus, this shows that personal preferences can also play a role. This could influence the perspective on future security measures and the prevention of burglaries.
