Shock accident in Esterwegen: Two men seriously injured!

In the Lower Saxony community of Esterwegen, in the district of Emsland, a serious traffic accident occurred on Tuesday evening. Two drivers were seriously injured in the incident.

The accident happened around 7:30 a.m. when a 57-year-old man who was traveling with a Kia overlooked a vehicle driving from Melmstrasse to Heidbrücker Strasse. As a result, there was a frontal collision with a 21-year-old BMW driver who was entitled to go.

The injured suffered both serious injuries. The 57-year-old was flown to a clinic with a rescue helicopter while the 21-year-old driver was transported with an ambulance. A total of around 55 emergency services from the fire brigade and police were on site to support the rescue and salvage work.

The damage to the two vehicles is estimated at around 20,000 euros. Due to the accident recording and rescue measures, Heidbrücker Straße was fully closed until 10:00 p.m.
