Protests in Tbilisa: Georgian opposition does not differ from election fraud!

in Georgia, it is boiling after the controversial parliamentary elections that were overshadowed by massive irregularities. The Prewest President, Salome Surabischwili, announced a protest demonstration in Tbilisa for Monday afternoon and described the election victory of the national conservative ruling party Georgian dream as a "falsification of the will to voters". It even suspects influence from Russia. Despite the obvious defects documented by international observers, the electoral management of Georgian dreams declared the winner with around 54 percent of the vote, while opposition alliances only serve.

The western reactions to the choice are so far careful; U.S. Secretary of State Antony Flashing only asked to remove "defects in the election process". While EU Council President Charles Michel requires a comprehensive clarification of irregularities, German and international politics remains excited to see whether and how the situation in Georgia will develop. Meanwhile, the government party sees its position of power and plans to secure the parliament with its majority, while the opposition signals to check possible mandate refusal.
