Heldin in the neighborhood: Nurse saves man from burning bed!

On Friday morning at 6:15 a.m., the Gevelsberg fire brigade was called to a fire in Schillerstrasse. Initially, the emergency services saw burning textiles in front of an open window. A man in need of care was in a care bed whose ceiling had caught fire and could not save himself. Thanks to the rapid intervention of the fire brigade, which freed the man from the dangerous situation, he could be brought outside. Although he was taken to a nearby hospital, he was largely unharmed.

The attentive neighbor, alerted by the beeping smoke detector, also provided important help, while a caregiver who lives nearby opened the doors in time and threw the burning material out of the apartment. The police have not yet investigated the cause of the fire, but the fire brigade successfully ended their efforts with 27 forces after almost an hour.
