New construction project in Dorfen: Investor is fighting for support for district

In Dorfen, the focus is on a significant construction project that concerns the plans of the entrepreneur Robert Decker, who wants to convert an industrial wage into a new residential area. The project is confronted with numerous challenges because the support from the city council does not exist. Decker sees himself slowed down and criticizes the lack of cooperation.

The building contractor, who acquired the former Meindl site in 2018, would like to build a student dormitory on the extensive area on the site of a former brick factory. However, this project was rejected in the construction committee. Instead of this, Decker plans to renovate the historic swamp house, which was once part of the brick factory to add it to a new purpose. It states that this does not have to be opened up by new arable land and can be handled more sustainably with resources.

conflict with the mayor

In the past,

Decker received the support of the mayor Heinz Grundner and the city councils for his project, which had assured him that a new neighborhood could be created within ten years. Now suddenly it becomes clear that the "ten years from the statute decision" must be counted, which Decker feels as a breach of contract. Frustration spreads because Decker insists on the fact that it doesn't have to take that long to realize a high -quality project.

An example of the hurdles that he encounter is not to tackle any further residential construction project before creating an adequate replacement for a disused level crossing. This presents Decker with great challenges because he rely on this infrastructure in order to be able to successfully implement his residential project. In addition, it is pointed out that the soundproofing for residential uses must be taken into account in order to offer future residents a pleasant living environment.

The way to the new district

Despite the difficulties, Decker remains optimistic. The plans are to be presented in the city council this year, with the aim of building as quickly as possible. He is determined to use the potential of the Meindl area as a new district for villages in which between 1500 and 1800 people could live. Vice Mayor Ludwig Rudolf also speaks for a rapid development and recognizes the need for living space in the region, especially since Dorfen is part of the Munich Metropolitan Region.

Although the resulting conflicts put a strain on Decker, he does not want to be discouraged. He himself admits that it is frustrating to have to fight opposition constantly, but as a native of Dorfener, the development of his homeland is particularly important to him. The concern of creating a sustainable habitat continues to drive it, despite the difficult circumstances. Here you not only pay the usual political standards to those involved, but also the courage to address the challenges of such a major investment.

The discussions about this project show an example of how important it is to have long -term visions for urban developments, and that the implementation of such projects requires a lot of patience and perseverance. It remains to be seen whether Decker will receive the necessary support to put his plans into practice. The Dorfen City Council will finally be measured by the execution of the project when it comes to the quality of life and the future of the district.

As the developments related to the Meindl site show, the support of city politicians and investors is crucial for the creation of new living space and promoting rural development projects. Dealing with already sealed building land could offer a solution to reduce pressure on the infrastructures in the region and at the same time bring new life to former industrial areas.
