A serious traffic accident with a truck caused considerable traffic disruptions on Monday evening at the Erfurt-Nord motorway triangle. The truck driver was injured in the accident and had to be freed from his vehicle by rescue workers. The rescue work lasted around 30 minutes.

The Erfurt fire brigade, the emergency services and several voluntary fire departments were on site with a total of 58 emergency services to help with the rescue and care of the injured driver.

The consequences of the accident were also noticeable on the streets. The driveway to the A71 motorway towards Schweinfurt, coming from Jena, had to be closed due to the accident. This led to further traffic disruptions in the area of ​​the Erfurt-Nord motorway triangle.

It is therefore advisable to choose alternative routes and bypass the area to avoid longer service life and traffic jams.
