Pumptrack project: Change of location on a festival meadow ensures hope!

The planned pump track system in the pastor Büschken in Raesfeld cannot be realized due to building law hurdles. According to Heimatreport , however, suggests the location to move the location to the western area of the festival meadow. This new location avoids legal problems and offers enough space for the project.

As part of the 2023 budget consultations, the administration was given the order to plan the pump track system and implement it as a leader project. A Dutch manufacturer was contacted and a first design planning was created together with the Raesfeld youth center. This planning was presented in October 2023 in the meeting of the local working group (LAG) of the LEADER region Hohe Mark.

financing and support

The project has a construction volume of around 155,000 euros, of which 70 % are financed by a grant. The pump track system was originally intended on an area of a maximum of 1,500 square meters in addition to the existing skater system in the pastor. However, the detailed planning revealed building law difficulties because the skating system would have to be included in the approval process.

To avoid these hurdles, the administration checked alternative locations and found the western area of the festival meadow as suitable. This new place is next to the two-fold sports hall and meets all requirements without building obstacles. In addition, the festival meadow remains large enough for important events such as carnival or the shooting festival.

political decision is imminent

On Monday, March 10, politics in the planning committee should decide and agree on the new location. This decision will be of crucial importance for the future of the pumptrack system.

Similar projects in Germany show how important such systems are for youth. For example, the municipality of Denkendorf successfully approved the Limes pump track system, with a project volume of a total of 223,564.11 euros, of which 113,000 euros are funded via leaders. Young people were actively involved in the planning process, which shows how such projects can be promoting for the community, as well as Altmuehl-Jura reports.

The city of Erbach also plans to build a modern roller sports facility in the sports park. This will be freely accessible to young people and has a funding amount of around 197,000 euros. The total cost of the project is around 391,000 euros, which underlines the importance of such initiatives for the local youth, as in the odw journal is .
