Administration temporarily moves into the new building in Bernhausen!
Filderbahnstraße 12, 70792 Filderstadt, Deutschland - The Filderstadt town council decided to rent a central building in Bernhausen to make room for the overcrowded administration. The decision was made unanimously to use the property at Filderbahnstrasse 12, which is located directly at the train station. The administration will rent 1,600 square meters of office space plus 160 square meters of adjoining rooms. Costs for the coming year amount to 268,000 euros. Matthias Weinmann from the Free Voters called the Situation with worrying because the previous tenant had already moved out by a parking garage construction site due to noise problems.
The city originally planned to build a new administrative building at the location of the currently demolished parking garage. However, the plans had to be stamped because of the regulations of the region, which brought the city administration into a precarious situation. Mayor Christoph Traub was skeptical about a quick solution and estimated that a new building on Volmarstrasse could be realized in three years at the earliest. For the time being, employees from other locations should move to the newly rented premises, while the search for a long -term solution will continue.
