Asterix & Obelix in the streaming duel: The first series brings thrills!

Lille, Frankreich - On April 30, 2025, the long -awaited series "Asterix & Obelix: The Struggle of the Chiefs" will be published on Netflix. This represents the first series that deals with the popular Gauls, and will include five half -hour episodes based on the 1964 comic band. The French director Alain Chabat directed this project and also speaks the role of the Asterix in the series. Chabat is known for his work on "Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra", which is still considered the most successful adaptation of the Asterix comics, with almost 15 million visitors in France.

The plot of the new series plays 50 BC in the year. BC and focuses on how Julius Caesar stages a “struggle of the chiefs” to occupy Gaul. Key persons, such as the Druide Miraculix, are out of action in history, which Caesar plays in the cards. At the same time, Asterix and Obelix have to support the experienced chief Vitalstatistix, who has to compete against the leader of a Gallo-Roman village called Ceramix. This voltage is underlined by the current 3D animation, which picks up old cartoon traditions and is enriched with contemporary covers.

As in the comics, the series also has some known faces. Gilles Lellouche speaks the role of Obelix and thus brings the figure to new life after playing this role in the live action film "Asterix & Obelix: The Middle Kingdom". Three of the five episodes have already been presented at a festival in Lille to further increase the anticipation for the premiere. It should be noted that the series also contains some more modern, pop cultural references that enrich the nostalgic experience.

On May 1, 2025, “The Four Seasons”, a remake of the 1981 film romance with prominent actors such as Tina Fey and Steve Carell, also started. In addition, the biography "Carême" comes to Apple TV+, which tells the promotion story of the play chef Marie-Antoine Carême. Amazon Prime also announces the continuation of the film "only a little favor" for May 1st, in which Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively can be seen again.
