The Shanghaier Organization for Cooperation has officially welcomed Belarus as the latest member in their ranks. This marks an important step for the authoritarian land, which is known as the last dictator in Europe under President Alexander Lukaschenko. Wladimir Putin, XI Jinping and other state leaders signed Belarus' admission during the SCO summit in Astana, Kazakhstan, which is currently the chair of the organization.

The SCO, originally founded to combat terror, includes Belarus also India, Pakistan, Iran and several central Asian countries. This group, which is considered Russia -friendly, will now include Belarus' participation in international security issues. Lukaschkos' accession to this organization can be interpreted as a step to consolidate its power and international recognition.

In view of Putin's persistent invasion of Ukraine, the focus remains on a peaceful solution to the conflict. China, who once again spoke out for diplomatic efforts at his meeting with Putin, emphasized the importance of cooperation between Russia and other countries. The invitation to Putin for a visit to Turkey also shows the endeavor of several countries to achieve stability in the region and to consolidate international relationships.

The SCO summit in Astana offered space for important bilateral conversations that are intended to strengthen the cooperation between the member states. The participation of Belarus in this regional security alliance indicates an increased interaction of the country at the international level. The decision to accept Belarus as a member reflects the dynamics of geopolitical relationships in Eurasia and could significantly influence future developments.
