Euskirchen plans solar parks: Where are the open spaces?
In the Euskirchen town hall, the inquiries from investors who want to build open space-photovoltaic systems overturn over. The city council has now passed a concept to control the development of these solar parks. There are currently three plants in the region, others are supposed to follow, but under strict requirements. The new set of rules aims to prevent a scattered construction in the landscape and determines that individual solar parks may be a maximum of 20 hectares. In addition, there must be at least 300 meters between the systems, while the distance to the residential development must be at least 100 meters.
Particularly explosive: Plants along motorways and two -track railway lines enjoy legal advantages and can be created without a development plan. In the council, the proposal met with mixed reactions. While the majority voted for the 300-meter corridor, the SPD advocated an extension to 500 meters, which in their opinion would enable a higher solar harvest and less environmental impact. Alliance 90/The Greens and the AfD rejected the concept for various reasons, whereby the Greens were concerned that large potential areas are excluded. The controversial discussions about green energy and its effects on the environment remain a hot topic in Euskirchen. Details show From www.ksta.de .
