Helicopia and emergency services fight against fire on the chunk
Wernigerode - In the morning the extinguishing work on the Brocken in the Harz shot started again. This campaign takes place as part of the fight against the flaming fires, which broke out on Friday at Saxony-Anhalt's highest mountain. The fire brigade is not only active from the air, but also with around 150 emergency services on the ground. A helicopter and a special fire -fighting aircraft are currently in use around the clock to control the flames.
With a view to the continued danger, three additional fire -fighting aircraft and another helicopter are expected around noon, which are intended to strengthen the existing air fleet. In order to support the deletion measures, the Harz district has requested support from the Bundeswehr, the Federal Police and Thuringia. This cooperation shows the seriousness of the Situation and the need to mobilize the available resources in this emergency.
new possible uses
An impressive step in the fight against the flames is the establishment of a helicopter airport in misery. This measure enables more efficient mobilization of air support. At the same time, the water refueling area in Aue Hattorf is ready for use and is available to optimally support the extinguishing forces. The goal is clear: to combat the fire front, which in the past few days have merged from several fire spots and to prevent it from spreading to surrounding areas.
It is particularly alarming that the fire affects the Königsberg again, a minor crop of the Brocken. This place was the scene of a similar event two years ago when the district had proclaimed a disaster due to a fire. The repetition of such incidents raises serious questions about forest fire prevention and climatic changes, which may lead to an increased risk of such fires.
Those responsible on site work intensively to beat further protective strips and create ways for water transport. This work is crucial to coordinate the various extinguishing actions and ensure that the water supply is always maintained. The emergency services are under high pressure to combat the rapidly spreading flames while they have to move backly through rough terrain.
The eyes of the public are firmly aimed at ongoing operational measures. It is to be hoped that the increased extinguishing activities will bear fruit in the coming hours and that the fire can be contained before it accepts even greater dimensions. The region is well positioned to counter the challenge, and the cooperation between the different units testifies to well -functioning crisis management.
