King Charles III. Surprised in Samoa: white safari shirt instead of a suit!
Apia, Samoa - King Charles III. And Queen Camilla made an impressive appearance in the Pacific island state of Samoa, where she took part in a traditional 'ava ceremony' in bright white. Instead of the usual suit, the king wore a safari shirt in the island style and was inspired by local culture. The ceremony, in which the traditional drink 'Ava' is tasted from the roots of the Kava plant, paved the way for a solemn reception with head of state Tuimaliifano Vaaletoa Sualauvi II.
After a six-day trip in Australia, the royal couple arrived in Samoa to take part in the Commonwealth summit, which begins on Friday. The top -class guests include British Prime Minister Keir Strander and top representative from Australia and New Zealand. Climate change will be a central topic of the talks, a concern that Charles is particularly important to. The king's first long -distance journey after the announcement of his cancer brings with it a suspension of his treatment in order to counter the challenges of the summit.
