In the district of Sigmaringen, there have been several sometimes violent incidents in the past few days that have kept the emergency services busy. A fire from a wooden truck, which occurred on Hohenzollernstrasse on Monday afternoon, was particularly remarkable. The driver heard a loud bang and was made aware of the rising smoke by other road users. Immediately after the alarm, flames from the driver's cab, which then burned out completely. Fortunately, the 54-year-old professional driver was unharmed and was able to get to safety in good time. The local fire brigade was quickly on hand and brought the fire under control, but the Hohenzollernstrasse had to be closed until 7 p.m. during the mission. The property damage is estimated at around 70,000 euros, although the exact damage to the asphalt still has to be found. The cause of the fire has so far remained unclear.

While the wooden truck burned in Sigmaringen, another incident caused a sensation in the city. At about the same time, an attempt was made in a garden hut in Fabrikstrasse. In the night from Monday to Tuesday, an unknown perpetrator tried to break up the doors of the hut. Although he searched the hut, he obviously did not find any stolen goods and finally fled. A witness was able to observe the stranger and the police initiated an investigation to secure clues.
