DRK Nentershausen and fire brigade Girod carry out major exercise: simulation of a serious accident
On Monday evening, the DRK Nentershausen and the Girod fire brigade carried out a major exercise in which the focus was on coping with an acute dynamic location. The exercise simulated a serious accident on an agricultural trail in Girod, in which a motorcycle was raced into a group of people, which led to six mostly seriously injured people.
The DRK's helpers, who previously stayed nearby at a medical service at the sports field, were immediately alerted to the accident via the Montabaur control center. In addition to the large number of injuries, the motorcycle caught fire, which required a quick reaction to avert damage from the aniling.
The group leader coordinated the operation and also had the emergency services and fire brigade alert. The DRK helpers immediately started the first aid of the injured, including traumatic injuries such as demolished limbs, burns and internal bleeding.
they received support from the incoming emergency doctor, who deepened medical care. The Kleinholbach/Girod fire brigade secured the scene of the accident, deleted the motorcycle again and took care of leaking operating materials while supporting the DRK in the care of the injured.
The exercise served as a practical learning control for the training in tactical medicine at the DRK Nentershausen, which has been ongoing since the beginning of the year. The organizers, Dominic Müller and Markus Kremer, thanked everyone involved and especially with the injury actors and helpers who had created a lively and demanding scenario.
After completing the exercise, the helpers of the Wohlfahrt and Social Affairs of the DRK Nentershausen in the Girod fire station provided a small snack.
