200 jobs in Flensburg: Semikron Danfoss fights against e-car crisis!
In the work of Semikron Danfoss in Flensburg, 200 jobs will have to be dismantled in the coming months. The crisis of the electric car market is the main reason for this drastic step, as a company spokesman explains. The expectations of growth in the electric automotive industry were exaggerated and also in other areas, such as photovoltaics, the sales figures are left behind the forecasts. After the merger with Semikron two years ago, the number of employees had increased to almost 1,000.
The works council is optimistic and plans to negotiate with IG Metall in order to find socially acceptable solutions for the employees concerned. "We are in good dialogue with the union and the management and are confident that we will create a reasonable solution together," said Oliver Briehn works council. The situation at Semikron Danfoss is considered to be significantly better than with other companies in the region, which were recently confronted with bankruptcy and problems.
