A7 closure in Hamburg: Massive Stammfahr at the weekend!

The Autobahn 7 in Hamburg remains completely closed at the weekend between the Hamburg-Heimfeld and Hamburg-Stellingen junctions until Monday morning at 5 a.m. Drivers have to expect massive disorders because the famous Elbe tunnel route is affected. This full closure is part of the planned expansion of the A7, in which the road is expanded from six to eight lanes. Construction work also includes the assembly of traffic sign bridges and asphalting work, so that the traffic situation is expected to be chaotic.

To counteract a risk of traffic jams, there are extensive diversions via the A1, A21 and B205. From Buchholzer and Horster Dreieck towards Flensburg, the A1 remains continuous, while drivers who want to go to downtown Hamburg should use the Elbbrücken via the B4. Harbor traffic from Hanover must switch to a redirection of needs at the Hamburg-Heimfeld junction, while everyone else has to drive towards Hanover via Kieler Strasse and Eimsbütteler Marktplatz. These comprehensive traffic measures are necessary to bypass the construction sites efficiently, reports www.ndr.de .
