Buchmesse Frankfurt 2024: Gigantic literature event with stars!
The Frankfurt Book Fair 2024 takes place from October 16 to 20 and brings together thousands of publishers, authors and artists from a total of 100 countries. Thomas Gottschalk, Max Mutzke and Bülent Ceylan are expected among the prominent guests, as well as well -known authors such as Arno Strobel and Charlotte Link. Last year the fair recorded 215,000 visitors. Around 4000 publishers present their latest works, including novels, non -fiction books and children's books. A special focus is on the B2B business, which promotes trading with book licenses and rights.
The fair opens on Friday at 2 p.m. for private visitors, and over 1000 authors will read and sign on 15 stages. Tickets are available online, with prices of 22 euros for Friday afternoon up to 56 euros for day tickets on weekends. A highlight of the book fair will be the awarding of the German Book Prize on October 14th, while the Polish-American historian Anne Applebaum receives the Peace Prize of German Book Trade on October 20. In Parallel to the fair, the reading festival "Open Books" is aligned, in which 160 authors with 90 events take part in the city.
