Rick Ocon brings a breath of fresh people to the vampire love: ZDFNEO series Love Sucks

In the exciting world of television, we have a new series in the house that may go beyond the limits of the previous formats. "Love Sucks" is the name of this promising production, which will celebrate premiere at the ZDFneo broadcaster. The former "crime scene" actor Rick Ocon plays a central role and is enthusiastic about the fresh concept. He particularly emphasizes that the format has not yet been “seen” on German television.

The action of "Love Sucks" combines classic elements of the theater with modern narrative techniques and relocates the tragic love of Ben and Zelda, played by Damian Hardung and Havana Joy, to the pulsating ambience of a fair in Frankfurt am Main. In a kind of contemporary adaptation of "Romeo and Julia", the dark and seductive world of vampires plays an important role and gives history a mystical atmosphere.

a transition to new roles

Rick Ocon, known from the crime series "Tatort: Dortmund", opens an exciting chapter in his acting career with this new series. During his time at “crime scene” he was already in a serious role, but now he ventures into the robes of the dragon: he plays the big brother Ben, Theo von Greifenstein, who acts as an antagonistic figure. This is a surprising turn for the actor who wants to play with a wide range of emotions and psychological nuances.

"This cannot be said in general what kind of role I like to play," explains Ocom in an interview. "The main thing is that I can go emotionally with my figure. In the best case, the role is multi -dimensional, so that the good is slumbering in evil or vice versa." With this point of view, he is ready to accept the challenge that the villain brings.

diverse facets of the series

"Love Sucks" not only keeps interested spectators in suspense due to the emotional depth of the characters, but also through his visual presentation. Before filming, owo had to undergo various tests - especially the use of artificial blood and the production of individual contact lenses and teeth that should help him authentically immerse yourself in the role of a vampire. "For me it should be the somewhat sweeter variant of the artificial blood," said owcone, which already provides the first indications of the humorous and unconventional approach of the series.

The ZDF brand is known for original stories and innovative productions, and "Love Sucks" continues this trend. ZDFneo plans to radiate all eight episodes of the series in a compact block within just three days. TV viewers can look forward to an intensive experience if the series is broadcast daily at 8:15 p.m. from October 31, 2024. In the ZDF media library, the series will be available from October 11th.

In view of the promising mixture of drama, romance and supernatural element, "Love Sucks" can hope for a committed base of spectators that thirst for fresh and exciting content on German television. With a tried and tested cast and innovative ideas, the series has all the ingredients to become a hit.
