Community strengthens after flooding: helper festival in Götschlag
The small community of Götschlag, a district of the Allershausen municipality, has had a moving time in recent months. After a devastating dam break, which led to a flood disaster in June, the villagers and numerous helpers gathered to an emotional festival. This event was not only used to thank the brave rescuers, but also to raise the pressing questions of flood protection.
at the then flood moment, which gods put in sad celebrity, the firefighters from Tünzhausen, Mintraching and Paunzhausen were decisive, among other things. These firefighters ensured by a rescue chain that hundreds of sandbags were piled up when the water masses flowed into the village. The village community invited these brave festival to show their recognition and gratitude.
emotional gratitude
The celebrations were shaped by emotions. Angelika Pichler, who acted as a spokeswoman for the village community, emphasized: "You are simply amazing!" Their praise was addressed to both the firefighters and the neighbors who were together in this difficult time. The tears of Steffen Conzelmann, another spokesman, showed how much the community grew together during this time. He particularly thanked the two "angels", Lukas Schuhbauer and Jan Groszek, who worked tirelessly with wheel loaders to transport the bulky waste to the Volksfestplatz. This gratitude also referred to the local Eggendinger family, who actively supported agricultural devices.
urgent need for action
Another urgent problem is the dilapidated dam, its ownership and care in focus during the flood events. Pichler emphasized that there are no clear agreements regarding the duties for maintaining and stabilizing the dam. This leads to great concerns among the population that the necessary measures could be long in coming. "The community alone will not be able to do this," she said, and also emphasized the importance of the topic that she would like to address personally by writing to the Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder.
