Rescue in the Steinerne Sea: hiking after accident recovered with helicopter
In the picturesque area of the stone sea on the three -chair, an unfortunate incident occurred on Friday, which impressively illustrated the speed and efficiency of the emergency services. A hiker fell and suffered considerable foot injuries. Her companions reacted quickly by requesting help via emergency call 112. Shortly thereafter, the Passau-Dreibessel mountain resistance was informed at 3:50 p.m. and immediately set off.
The injured hiker suffered not only from the physical consequences of her fall, but also to strong exhaustion. The mountain rescue service was aware of the urgency of the situation and immediately sent five of its emergency services to the site with a mountain rescue vehicle. However, the rescue operation was initially delayed by the availability of the rescue helicopter Christoph 15 from Straubing, which was bound by another use.
rescue from difficult conditions
Since the helicopter was not available immediately, a rescue was initiated using the floor teams. In this critical moment, however, there was a positive turn: the rescue helicopter became free and was able to support the rescue mission. The patient received urgently needed medical help on site before finally recovering with the help of a wind from the rough terrain. This was a crucial step that prevented an elaborate and exhausting removal.
Stefan Berger, the on -call manager of the mountain rescue service, emphasizes the advantages of the new life -fighting winds: "The introduction of the rescue winds at the Straubinger helicopter has saved us a lengthy rescue operation from the Steinernen Sea for the fifth time this year. The therapy -free interval for the patients is extremely shortened." He added that this use would have been very tedious and exhausting at the high temperatures around 30 degrees without the technical innovations.
After the successful salvage, the injured hiker was taken to a hospital by an alarmed BRK ambulance from Neereichenau for further medical care. This rapid reaction of the rescue workers underlines the importance of cooperation between different organizations in order to be able to react promptly to emergencies in remote areas.
