In the picturesque border village of Bischofsreut, an annual folk festival was opened on Friday evening, which not only celebrates local culture, but also strengthens the sense of community among the villagers. With colorful costumes, a pageant and the music of the Bischofsreuter Blemusi, a lively sign for tradition and togetherness was set.

The opening ceremony was led by Haidmühles Mayor Roland Schraml, who stings the beer barrel with three strokes - a moment that stands not only for customs, but also for the sociable atmosphere that surrounds the festival. \ “We have a good beer, so the district administrator is here,” said Schraml with a smile when he greeted the district administrator Sebastian Gruber.

The folk festival offers a wide range of activities that appeal to people of all ages. On Saturday at 2 p.m. there is a family, children's and senior afternoon on the program, followed by an exciting balloon long-distance flight competition. In addition, visitors can try out creative instruments in the "sound laboratory". The Duke Reuter brass music provides musical entertainment in the marquee, while from 7.30 p.m. the party band "Fritz and Friends" revives the dance floor.

Sunday traditionally starts sporty with the Bischofsreuter Nordic Walking Day and a preparatory warm-up at 10 a.m. From 11 a.m., the festival visitors can enjoy the live performances of the Bischofsreuter Blemusi, while the Nagler Club Auersbergsreut invites you to a tournament. Another highlight is the grill influencer meeting, in which the participants can expect many culinary delights. The “Schmalzler”, which expand the celebrations into the evening, form the musical conclusion of the festival.
