Construction sites in Jever: Downtown remains accessible with new signs!

Jever, Deutschland - The city of Jever provides information about current developments in the city center and the ongoing construction projects. Despite the three construction sites, traffic remains available in the city center. Since Monday, the city administration has set up a total of five banners of diversions that have the way to parking spaces and shops.

The banners are placed on several intersections, including:

  • Mühlenstraße/Anton-Günther-Straße
  • Elisabethufer/St. -annen-Straße
  • Mühlenstraße/Grashausweg
  • Schillerstrasse at the
  • brewery
  • parking lot to the slaughter

The construction work is on schedule. In particular, the intersection area Elisabethufer/Von-Thünen-Ufer and Schlachtstraße/Wangerstraße is transformed into a "encounter zone". The road von-Thünen-Ufer/Elisabethufer is expected to be fully closed until June 27. In addition, the church square remains partially closed due to the fallen plaster from the bell tower of the city church.

progress of the construction projects

Work on Albanistrasse started demolition work in January. The supporting structure is completely removed under the street and a sheet piling is pulled in. Monument conservationists accompany the measures to secure possible historical finds. The tender for the reconstruction is currently underway, the order allocation is scheduled at the end of April, and the Albanistrasse is to be completed by the end of the year. A special increase in cleaning the bell was ordered and should arrive until the weekend.

In addition to the construction work, the city of Jever reports on the update of the mission statement and asks the citizens for help. The aim is to develop the city in the coming years. Planned citizen participations are planned for March 31, 2025, May 26, 2025 and June 23, 2025. An online survey is available until June 30, 2025 to achieve meaningful results.

The city administration also offers an online city plan where current construction sites and parking areas can be found to facilitate traffic in the city center during the construction work, such as nwzonline reported. Further information on the citizens' participations can be found on the website of the city of Jever at stadt-jever.de .
