Wangerooge, Deutschland - The "Wangerooger Action Group for Democracy" initiative organized a demonstration on Sunday under the motto "Light on for Democracy". On February 15th, Christopher Street Days (CSDS) took place in around 50 German places, whereby the motto of the events was "voting love". In Berlin, the police estimated the number of participants at around 6,000, while the organizers reported around 15,000 people.

The participation was also high in other cities: in Cologne up to 10,000 people took to the streets, while organizers provided around 13,000 participants. In Frankfurt am Main, a police estimate of more than 15,000 participants was reported, the organizers spoke of around 20,000. In addition, participants in Frankfurt campaigned against cooperation with the AfD and held a minute's silence for victims of attacks in Germany. Other cities in which demonstrations took place are Dresden, Schwerin, Potsdam, Magdeburg, Erfurt, Limbach-Oberfrohna, Neustrelitz, Munich, Nuremberg, Würzburg and Regensburg. 3,000 to 3,500 people took part in Osnabrück, around 2,000 in Braunschweig, more than 800 in Hanover and around 3,800 in Hamburg. CSD representatives emphasized the need for vigilance against right-wing extremists and right-wing populist parties and called for the defense of rights and freedoms as well as to solidarity in society, such as Tagesschau reported .
