FURSTY RAZORFACKS End season with a tight defeat in Regensburg

In an exciting end of the season, the FURSTY RAZABCKS had to give up the Phoenix Regensburg last Sunday. The team from Fürstenfeldbruck lost the last game of the season with 14:20, although the Brucker performed strongly in the first half. Despite the close result, the loss against an already fixed third -placed party from Regensburg was not unexpected.

The razorche ended the season in fifth place in the table. This is particularly noteworthy because the outcome of the game no longer had any influence on the final placement: Gießen was able to win against Albershausen at the same time. Chief coach Lukas Schmid was optimistic after the game: "We played very well and moved the ball well across the field," he noted. His positive views reflect that the team suffered all the more from the conditions of the game, with a number of injuries and personnel problems that ran through the entire season.

strong first half of the Razorbacks

The first half was promising for the razorche. Frank "Harry" Mok, a player with a long story at the Razorbacks, made the equalization after Regensburg took the lead. Mok, who is considered a kind of hero of the new construction in the 2000s, showed that he did not forget his craft when he achieved a touchdown. Shortly afterwards, Leon Richter was able to add a second touchdown before half-time, which led to a 14:13 lead for the Brucker for the break. Jan Wierczioch converted both extra points, while the Regensburgers failed at the kick, which brought Brucker into a promising position.

But despite the solid advantage, it was a brutal heat that the team strongly put on in the second half. "We simply lacked the depth to be able to change enough in the second half," said Schmid after the game. This exhaustion led to a slump in performance, and quarterback Philipp Kettl also had to struggle with the conditions. He threw several passes into the arms of the opposing defense, which finally initiated the turn in the game.

The missteps and the declining concentration led to crucial punishments that cost the razorche valuable points. During this time, the Phoenix were able to achieve their decisive touchdown, which the Bruckers could no longer catch up with. "We have to learn from the small mistakes - and make it better in the coming season," emphasized Schmid and thus showed a clear focus on the further development of the team in the coming season.

On the personnel side, the management of the razibacks is looking for new talents to strengthen the team for the next season. "The selection of one's own youth should not be too large, but what comes up is good quality," says Schmid optimistically about the future. With this attitude, the team hopes to be more competitive in the next season and to be able to perform better.
