Energy transition 2023: Fulda district produces over 51% green electricity!

Landkreis Fulda, Deutschland - The Rhönenergie Group converts the energy transition in East Hesse with full force! In the district of Fulda, the citizens generated over half of their electricity for the first time last year-a sensational brand on the way to CO2 neutrality. Thanks to massive investments in renewable energies and comprehensive network infrastructure, the producers dined around 439.8 million kilowatt hours into the net in 2023. This corresponds to an impressive proportion of 51.2 percent of the total current consumption of 858.2 million kWh.

But that's just the beginning! By 2030, Rhönenergie was planning a total of 200 million euros: 100 million euros are to be put in wind power and solar systems, while the other half is intended for the modernization of the power grids. "Sustainability is part of our DNA," explains Martin Heun, spokesman for the management. These impressive efforts have recently been awarded the Award 2024 energy transition, which recognizes the company for its outstanding product and service offer in the industry. The support of local climate protection initiatives is also not on the wayside: This year, the Rhönenergie Group awards a sustainability prize for clubs, schools and kindergartens with a sum of up to 10,000 euros for the first time.
