Mountain hunter battalion 233 triumphs at mountain performance march in Bavaria
a challenging path: mountain hunter on 42 kilometers march from Garmisch to Mittenwald
The mountain hunter battalion 233 set off to complete an impressive mountain performance march of 42 kilometers. With a total of 470 soldiers, they put their endurance and equipment to a tough test. Despite the continuing rain and difficult conditions, they could not be stopped.
One of the biggest challenges was the selection of suitable landing spaces for the helicopters to protect the Rauhfußhühner. The march led the soldiers from Garmisch to Mittenwald and ended with a water crossing in Lautensee. This final stage was not only refreshing, but also a test for the entire team.
The battalion commander Bastian Steves was proud of the performance of his soldiers and emphasized the importance of improved equipment. New Goretex tents and combat uniforms contributed to the fact that the group is better equipped for future challenges. The perseverance of the soldiers was also strengthened by the optimized equipment and the positive mood.
During the march not only military skills were trained, but also the nature experiences were valued. From flowering flowers to curious animals, the mountain landscape offered a diverse setting for the soldiers.
The mountain performance march was not only a test for the physical and mental strength of the mountain hunters, but also an opportunity for the battalion to grow together as a team. The close cooperation and the exchange within the groups contributed to the fact that the goal could be achieved together.
The end of the march with the crossing of water in Lautersee not only symbolized the end of an intensive journey, but also the cohesion and determination of the mountain hunters. This successful challenge will certainly be considered an important milestone in the history of the battalion. The soldiers have proven that they are ready to go beyond their limits and to master every hurdle together.
