The 68-year-old ruler traveled to Munich in his luxurious private machine, a Boeing 747 HO BBJ on Monday at 1:50 p.m. at Munich Airport. Accompanied by a 50-member entourage and chauffeured in a silver Rolls-Royce, he made his way to his personal retreat in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

a royal refuge on Kramerspitz

On the picturesque maximum height below the Kramerspitz, the sultan has an impressive property with ten houses, including its own medical center. This refuge was transferred to him after the death of his cousin Qabus bin Said - the former Sultan of Oman. The deceased Qabus, a lover of the Bavarian mountains, had acquired the property in 1974 and expanded step by step into a royal Almreich.

The warmth with which Garmisch-Partenkirchen receives the Sultan, reflects the traditional hospitality of the Bavarian community. The residents are proud to welcome their royal guest and to give him an unforgettable stay.

Generous donation for the children's clinic Großhadern

Not only in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the sultan feels comfortable, the Munich community also appreciates its generosity. As a thank you for the excellent medical care in the Großhadern Clinic, Qabus bin Said donated impressive 17 million euros in 2014 for the construction of the "Neue Hauner", the most modern children's clinic in Europe on the Großhadern campus

This charity and connection with the region show the deep connection of the Sultanate Oman with Bavaria and the recognition of first -class medical care that is offered in Munich.

The presence of the Sultan in Garmisch-Partenkirchen is not only a private vacation, but also a symbol of the close connection between Oman and Bavaria as well as the beauty and hospitality of both regions. Mutual recognition and cultural exchange shape this special relationship and enrich both the sultan and the residents of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
