Memory in Gelsenkirchen: five years after the attack in Halle
in Gelsenkirchen is now reminiscent of the victims of the anti-Semitic attack in Halle and the Hamas terrorist attack. Several organizations, including the Jewish community, invited to a rally in front of the synagogue in the city center, which begins at 6 p.m. Afterwards there is a panel discussion in the synagogue, in which survivors of the Hamas attack will share their moving experiences. The police have announced that the security measures around the event are increasing.
The fifth anniversary of the attack in Halle falls on a historic day, because at the same time the devastating terrorist attack of Hamas is annoying on Israel, in which over 1,200 people were killed. In Halle, an extremist motivated perpetrator had killed two people on the highest Jewish holiday, Jom Kippur and injured two more after trying to penetrate the synagogue. For the panel discussion at 7 p.m., a prior registration by email is required. More details can be found in a current report at www.radioemscherlippe.de .
