Tragic accident during Malle party: Ms. seriously injured in Gelsenkirchen

On Saturday, October 12th, around 20,000 party strikers celebrated a big Malle party in the Veltins Arena. But the fun was overshadowed by a tragic accident: around 7.40 p.m. there was a collision between tram line 302 and a 21-year-old pedestrian in Gelsenkirchen. The young woman from Hessen suffered life -threatening injuries and was immediately taken to the hospital. A police team now examines the course of the accident that led to the blocking of Kurt-Schumacher-Strasse.

Despite the initial traffic restrictions for the visitors of the party, the police were able to give the all -clear in the evening. The road is open again for vehicles and trams towards the main train station. Only at the level of the Schalke mile remains the traffic to the north.
