Together against loneliness: Buseck sponsor project inspires seniors

In Buseck, a new project called "Together in Buseck" was launched in order to offer lonely seniors through sponsorship again. Households and communities provide sponsors who regularly spend time with single people. For example, the connection between the 68-year-old Petra Maghsoudi-Pluger and the 35-year-old Cuma Konuk was created. "I am happy when Cuma comes to me twice a week," says Maghsoudi-Plögler, who previously run its own shop and is well known in her community. The couple Marlies and Otmar Brück, both former nurses, initiated the project to promote social contacts and combat loneliness.
