Pouring helps: Donation of clothes and hygiene for flood victims in Eastern Europe!
The aid organization Global Aid Network (Gain) from Gießen calls for support for flood victims in Eastern Europe. In response to the devastating floods that have affected Romania and Poland in particular, Gain launched a comprehensive aid campaign. So far, around 6,000 houses have been destroyed, and an estimated 20,000 people have lost everything. Gain boss Klaus Dewald emphasizes: "The water came with power and rolled over the houses." Mattresses, food and hygiene items are urgently needed to help those affected. Gain plans a total of ten auxiliary transports to the affected areas; The first three have already arrived.
In addition, Gain organizes the “Lights and Share” project, which mobilizes numerous children's groups in Gießen to collect warm children's clothing. This campaign takes place at the St. Martinsfest, November 11th, and the donations collected are distributed to needy children in Eastern Europe. Ellen Sassen, project coordinator of "Lights and Share", praises the great commitment of the educators and children for people in need. If you want to participate, you can pack hygiene packages with basic care products or make donations to finance the transports. Further information can be found on the Gain website.
