Grünberg's landmark: Theft tower receives comprehensive restoration from 2025
new hope for Grünberg's landmark
The residents of Grünberg can breathe a sigh of relief: from next year the symbol of the city, the theft tower, will experience a comprehensive renovation. This restoration has been the largest in almost six decades so far and is carried out thanks to the financial support of the federal and state governments.
The thefitting tower, which has shaped the cityscape for centuries, has suffered greatly from weathering and damage in recent years. It is therefore of great importance to maintain it and to preserve its historical heritage.
The planned work includes the renovation of the masonry, plaster and lightning protection, as well as certain repair work on the viewing platform. The city administration expects a period of about a year to complete the restoration. Nevertheless, no budget is planned for this year, construction will only be started in the coming year.
The last comprehensive work on the thefitting tower took place in 1966 when it was completely renewed and opened as a viewpoint for visitors. This upcoming restoration will thus be the largest in decades and help to ensure that the tower is preserved for future generations.
The financial support of the federal and state governments and the city of Grünberg is a sign of how important the cultural heritage is for the local community. The long -awaited renovation of the theft will not only beautify the cityscape, but also preserve the historical heritage for future generations.
