team spirit and successes at great height
In the world of sport, the focus is often on individual best performances. But what really matters are the team successes that celebrate the cohesion and the common performance. This was once more evident at the Hessian championships of the U20 and U16 age groups in Friedberg, when domestic athletics clubs achieved impressive results.
The LAZ sprinters demonstrated the strength of the team spirit when they contested the 4x100m of the female U20. With an impressive time and a new personal best, they won the silver medal. The LG Wettenberg also showed team strength in the U16, with outstanding performance in individual disciplines.
The Wettenberger Michelle Rutz surprised with two medals in the pole vault and in the five-way jump. Mika Findisen from Gießen broke into new heights as a young athlete in the pole vault and secured the gold medal. And Finn Peters from TSF Heuchelheim won an outstanding victory in the javelin throw of the M14.
Lasse Matheis from TSG Wieseck showed a special achievement, which impressed both over 100m and over 200m and secured the title in the U20. The LG Langgöns-Oberkleen rounded off the successful weekend with best performances over 400m and 1500m, which were rewarded with bronze medals.
Participation in such championships not only strengthens the competition spirit and the individual performance, but above all emphasizes the invaluable value of the team spirit and the common success. With their successes, the athletics clubs in Gießen and the surrounding area have shown that they belong to the leaders at the Hesse level and have a strong cohesion. These championships not only emphasized sporting achievements, but also the importance of teamwork and mutual support.
