Cyclists from Zug recorded: onlookers offended civil servants in Gießen!
A shocking accident occurred in Gießen last night when a 51-year-old cyclist was grasped by an approaching train of the Hessian State Railway. The man who was traveling on a bicycle path running parallel to the railway line suddenly crossed the tracks, was recorded and seriously injured. The collision could no longer prevent the immediate quick braking of the train driver. The cyclist was admitted to the Gießen University Clinic, while the 22 passengers remained unharmed on the train. The incident led to massive impairments in rail traffic: a total of 313 minutes delayed on seven trains.
During the emergency services, a 24-year-old onlooker had no respect and disabled the police in their work. He refused to leave the blocked area, was ultimately removed with physical violence and insulted the officials. A breath alcohol test resulted in a value of almost 1.8 per thousand. Criminal proceedings were initiated against him. The federal police urgently warned of the dangers of rail traffic and warned at level crossings for caution.
