Certainly celebrate in Gießen: Awareness teams for nightlife in use

In Gießen, new Awareness teams were launched to improve safety in nightlife. The Initiative follows a survey that showed that many women feel uncomfortable not only on their way home, but also in clubs. As part of a five-point plan of the city, the teams in discos and events are intended to provide specific prevention work. The city provides training courses and materials to optimally equip the teams. These include test stations against knockout drops, bottle plugs and vouchers for women's night taxis.

The Awaress teams are not intended as security forces, but want to mix under the people and create a feeling of community. The members plan to be present at various events to offer support and to have an open ear for those in need. Your goal is to promote respectful coexistence in nightlife and to raise awareness of security questions.
