Traffic transition in Gießen: innovations along the eastern facility from tomorrow

road traffic in Gießen is optimized

The city of Gießen plans to make changes in road traffic between Berliner Platz and Asterweg in order to improve security and the flow of traffic. These measures are expected to be implemented from tomorrow and will last until mid -August.

The goal of this work is to make traffic management more secure for cyclists and pedestrians and to increase the performance of the traffic light systems. For this purpose, road markings and traffic light systems along the eastern system are adapted in the area mentioned.

The city plans to improve the comfort and security conditions for cyclists in Gießen. In addition, the legally prescribed overtaking distance of 1.50 meters is to be guaranteed. Particular attention is paid to the efficiency of traffic along the eastern facility and on the nodes.

In order to improve the flow of traffic and reduce waiting times for drivers and cyclists, traffic light phases in the construction phase along the system ring should be optimized to enable a "green wave".

The work is carried out under fluent traffic, with individual lanes being closed alternately. Despite possible restrictions, no diversions are planned.

The planned measures aim to increase traffic safety and optimize the flow of traffic in Gießen. It is expected that these adjustments contribute to an overall more efficient and safer traffic routing in the city.
