Görlitz City Council: New faction with motor/green/SPD is formed
Görlitz: New political alliances in the city council
Alliance for common action
Exactly one month after the election, Silvio Minner made nails with heads and made a decision. It will be part of the "Motor Görlitz/Alliance Green/SPD" group. This cooperation has many similarities that lay the foundation for future political developments. Minner emphasized that the decision for this parliamentary group was based on small nuances and that he feels in good hands there.
The election programs of all three parties have similar focuses, including urban development and social issues. Minner was optimistic that the SPD issues are not neglected despite the joint faction. The political landscape in Görlitz is thus changing because the new faction is already one of the strongest in the city council at the beginning.
New parliamentary tip and common goals
At the constituent session of "Motor Görlitz/Bündnisgrüne/SPD", Jana Krauss and Mike Altmann were elected to the top of the parliamentary group. Together with Andreas Kolley and Silvio Minner, they are working on specific goals such as youth participation and improved cooperation in the city council. Altmann emphasized the importance of an open and democratic culture of discussion, which is to be strengthened by the new faction. A uniform line in factual issues should ensure efficient political work.
AfD ends talks on parliamentary formation
The AfD in Görlitz will not form a joint faction with the Free Saxons, as top candidate Sebastian Wippel confirmed. Nevertheless, the political landscape with 14 city councils remains diverse. Wippel emphasized the willingness to cooperate in factual issues with various political forces, from the Free Saxons to the left.
The left, on the other hand, is in a difficult location because it has not been able to form a faction so far. Nevertheless, she strives for intensive cooperation with other parties. The question of its own faction remains open, but the party is determined to actively participate in political decisions.
