From September 2, the city will carry out extensive maintenance work on the lanes of Wasa and Serkowitzer Straße. This work is part of a program to improve the street infrastructure in Radebeul-Ost and are expected to continue until the middle of the month.

The construction work is planned for the first week of September on Wasastraße. Workers will work in the section between Oststraße and Serkowitzer Straße from Monday to Friday. A surface treatment is used here, which serves to remedy cracks in the road. First, a special bitumen emulsion is applied, followed by split, which is spread on the asphalt. This measure is intended to prevent weather -related damage such as frost breaks and potholes. The city administration has emphasized that this work is necessary to ensure safety and driving comfort on these roads, even if they have temporary traffic disruptions.

Another phase of maintenance affects Serkowitzer Straße, where similar procedures in the second week, again from Monday to Friday, are carried out between Brunnenplatz and Friedhofstrasse. The city has made it clear that this is a targeted procedure that aims to extend the lifespan of the streets and optimize the use.

Despite the positive intentions of the measures, the administration points out that the technology used cannot completely fix all uneven areas on the road. After completing the work, there will therefore probably be a certain amount of loose grit on the road, which is to be incorporated into the recesses by traffic. This can also lead to dust development in the early days, especially in the event of continuing dry weather.

The work is carried out by the company Straßenbau K. Riemer, under the direction of owner Jan Hausdorf from Grossenhain. The city administration has decided to entrust this local company with the work, which also results in a strengthening of the regional economy.

The traffic restrictions should be aware of road users at this time, so it is recommended to use alternative routes. The city asks for understanding for the inconvenience that the construction work can bring and hopes that the measures can be carried out quickly and efficiently. The maintenance work is a necessary step to improve traffic conditions and security in Radebeul.
