Miriam Cahn: Kaiserring for art that moves the world!
The internationally celebrated Swiss artist Miriam Cahn received the renowned emperor of the city of Goslar - but in absence. The 75-year-old, who has withdrawn, had her long-time confidante Laura Rametti from the Meyer Riegger gallery received the award on behalf. For the ceremony, Cahn created a striking arm sculpture that Mayor Urte Schwerdtner symbolically infected the Kaiserring. This work of art is now left to the Goslar Museum Museum to make it accessible to the public.
Cahn, which deals with her work, the violent realities of today's world, is the 49th winner of the emperor, which has stood for significant contributions to the art awards since 1975. The jury paid tribute to its powerful painting and its captivating examination of topics such as flight, war and social injustices. Your works are internationally known and were shown in impressive exhibitions. The exhibition "Miriam Cahn - Kaiserringgerin of the City of Goslar 2024" is currently presented in the Mönchehaus Museum, which runs until January 27, 2025.
