Sparkasse Hildesheim: New service for coin money from January 2025!
From January 2, 2025, customers of Sparkasse Hildesheim Goslar Peine Münzgeld can deposit more easily. The new offer includes the use of special safebags, in which larger quantities can be collected hard money and handed over in the branches. Jürgen Twardzik, CEO of the Sparkasse, explains that this solution was necessary, since many SB-Münze payments will be taken out of operation by the end of 2024 and the cash traffic decreases. The Sparkasse wants to improve the handling of coin money for its customers and sees the complete setting of this service, as is the case with many banks, not as an option.
Household -related quantities of coin money will continue to be counted free of charge on site and credited to the account immediately. For larger amounts, a fee of 9.90 euros per safety is incurred, whereby the money is then counted centrally and also credited to the account within a few days. Twardzik emphasizes that the costs for cash processing are passed on and that most customers should hardly feel the fee, since only a few regularly pay large amounts of coin money. This new strategy of the Sparkasse was previously implemented at other savings banks, reports Hildesheimer-presse.de .
