A tragic traffic accident occurred in the Jonastal near Arnstadt in the Ilm district when an 18-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree. The young man was seriously injured and had to be taken to the hospital, as the police reported in Gotha.

The accident occurred on Friday afternoon when the novice driver was traveling towards Crawinkel and when overtaking several vehicles lost control of his car. When trying to classify himself back into traffic, he got on the banquet on the right side of the road, lost control and crashed head -on against a tree. Then the vehicle turned and collided with the rear against another tree. The damage caused by the car amounts to around 20,000 euros.

The street had to be completely closed for around three hours due to the accident to enable the vehicle's rescue and cleaning the road.

It is particularly important for young drivers to adapt the speed to the road conditions and to exercise special caution when overtaking in order to prevent accidents like this. The safety in road traffic should always be in the first place to avoid such tragic events.
