Thuringia 2025: Gotha is preparing for the Free State Festival
Bodo Ramelow and Knut Kreuch give the starting signal for the Thuringia 2025
The Thuringia 2025 is in the starting blocks, and Gotha will act as a host for the great festival of the Free State. The official opening was sealed by Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow and Mayor Knut Kreuch. During a visit to the residence city of Gotha, she took part in a press conference on July 4, in which a declaration of intent was signed that marked the start of the preparations.
The Letter of Intent, which was signed by the two politicians, includes a variety of topics that will shape Thuringia 2025. In addition to the traditional aspects such as politics, tourism and flashing lights, a career and a Thuringian mile are also set up in Gotha. These miles will be equipped with special program items and stands that visit visitors from near and far.
A special highlight of the festival will be the opening and final program, which will inspire visitors with exclusive live concerts at Friedenstein Castle. The famous siblings Weisheit®, which celebrate their 125th anniversary, will present spectacular shows and thus enrich the festival with another anniversary.
The Thuringia Day will be a central component as part of the “1,250 Years of Gotha” festival year and will be the largest event in the residence city. With this orientation, Gotha is given the honor of being the host of this significant event for the second time that focuses on the diversity and culture of the Free State of Thuringia.
