a brave step towards self -employment

The story of Krystyna and Slava shows how the life of refugees can change when they find their own ways in a new country. While many of their compatriots are aiming for an employment relationship, the two decided to build their own company.

The challenge of independence

The early days were not easy. Slava created a business plan with a start -up capital of 6000 euros and support from the job center. In the beginning, the landlord even helped by issuing the first three monthly rents. This support was crucial, especially because the bureaucratic hurdles, such as the opening of a business account, took additional time. Therefore, the couple is now under great pressure because they work up to 14 hours a day to realize their plans for the future.

Integration in the new home

Integration into the German way of life represents another hurdle. While Slava is still in the process of improving his knowledge of German, he communicates with customers mainly in English. Krystyna had the opportunity to attend a language course in the past. Her son, who goes to first class, already speaks German fluently. This shows how important language skills are for the integration and the successful opening of a company.

Una mirada a la comunidad

The foundation of the company by Krystyna and Slava not only affects her own family, but also on the entire community in the Gotha district. A total of 40,891 foreigners, including many Ukrainians who have different situations of residence law, live here.

The couple has big plans. You would like to get into series production and hire employees to reduce your workload and expand your business at the same time. Slava confirms: "We are grateful for the help we received, but we want to stand on our own feet." The dream of a successful company could come true for Krystyna and Slava - as an example of how refugees can arrive in their new home.
