Ritter festival in Bad Bentheim: An exciting medieval weekend!

Bad Bentheim is preparing for a big event: The 20th knight festival games will take place this year in the Schlosspark. The event will take place from Thursday, May 1st to Sunday, May 4, 2025, and promises a diverse program for young and old.

The festival is accompanied by a medieval market on which jugglers, musicians and warehouses appear. Knighting tournaments are held in various disciplines such as lance stinging, apple parts and archery. The groups of Feuerdorn and Cultus Feros from Berlin take over the musical accompaniment, while the juggler team ensures additional entertainment. Families with children expect a very special experience.

A special highlight of the market takes place on Friday: "The knights of the dark night" present a captivating story on the topic "The sword from the lake". The admission on Friday is at 5 p.m., followed by a knight tournament in a torchlight that begins at 8 p.m. A large fire spectacle is performed at 10 p.m.

Already at the last event in 2022, which took place from April 30th to May 1st, a number of visitors of around 15,000 was expected. Visitors were able to look forward to knight tournaments with duels on noble horses, appearances by minlessers, fire spitting and axwerfern as well as a medieval market with various craftsmen and goods.
