Exciting nature trip with hunting experts delights school children

school children research nature with hunters with an exciting excursion

In order to bring the pupils closer to nature and the environment, the Nordhorn hunters organized an exciting excursion in the forest and heath as part of this year's holiday pass campaign. On a sunny Wednesday, 30 children met with the hunters of Hegering III in front of the Tillenberge nature reserve between Nordhorn and Brandlecht.

After a warm greeting by Hegerings Manager Johannes Kramer, the children were divided into four groups and, under the expert guidance of the hunters, began their exploration tour through the diverse flora and fauna of the juniper heath in the Tillenbergen. Already at the beginning, the children noticed traces of earth wasps and ant lion in the white sand, which aroused their enthusiasm to experience the little animals up close.

A special highlight was a visit to the “Learning Place Nature” information, where the children had the opportunity to touch the fur of foxes and wild boar and marvel at the preparations of the animals in real size. The differences in size between rabbits and rabbits as well as the technical terms from the hunting language suggested in lively discussions.

Another fascinating experience for the school children was the observation of the hunting dogs in waterwork. The four -legged friends showed their skills by immediately bringing the apportel thrown into the water. When collecting and comparing different leaves, the children learned from which trees or shrubs they come from.

The highlight of the day was climbing the high seat, from which the children with binoculars could watch the animals in the area. The discovery of a rick with her fawn on a nearby meadow caused great enthusiasm among all participants.

The eventful day ended with a barbecue on the Heseeper SV sports field, in which the children and hunters enjoyed delicious grilled sausages and cold drinks. The Jagdhornbläsergruppe Bimolten joined this and presented various hunting signals and songs. The children enthusiastically tried to create sounds on the exercise horns.

The parents were warmly welcomed and received an insight into the newly acquired knowledge of their children and in their musical talent in the hunting horn bubbles. At the end, all children received participation certificates and a bag with books on nature and the environment. With a big thank you, the children and parents said goodbye to the hunters for an eventful day and a successful holiday pass campaign.
