New departure from the left: Ines Schwerdtner in sight!

Ines Schwerdtner, former editor-in-chief of the "Jacobin" magazine, is running for the chair at the party congress of the Left Party in Halle at the weekend. On Saturday she took part in the founding of the state working group "Die Linke helps" in Greifswald, an initiative that aims to support people in difficult situations. Among the participants were also numerous activists and specialists who want to initiate or promote help offers. Barbara Hesse, a new friend of the Left Party, wanted to get to know Schwerdtner personally and emphasized that she does not want to end as a "file oak" in the party.

Schwerdtner, who has gained a lot of experience in the party in recent months, occurs in a crisis situation in which the left urgently needs new leadership staff. The previous chairpersons have announced their retirement, and Schwerdtner is now in the spotlight. Although she has only recently been a member, she is ambitious her own Bundestag candidacy in the Lichtenberg-Hohenschönhausen constituency. Her message of propagating "revolutionary friendliness" seems to be well received. But the challenges are great and their political future is observed critically while trying to chair and their other goals. More information can be found here .
