Fewer students at the University of Greifswald: The reasons in detail!
For the current winter semester, the University of Greifswald has a dramatic decline in registration: a quarter fewer students than five years ago! More than 9,800 students are currently registered. This development reflects a nationwide phenomenon that is tightened by declining birth rates, housing shortages and rising rental costs. The competition from private universities and training advertising also contributes to the falling number of the first semester.
In the meantime, the city's conservative camp is planning to stop a controversial traffic attempt in the city center. At the request of the newly elected citizenship, the planned ban on passage in Friedrich-Loeffler-Straße, which was to come into force for one year from early summer 2025, should be available. The decision is justified with a lack of forecasts for the flow of traffic in surrounding roads and could seriously endanger the project. The next steps to clarify this matter are still pending href = "https://www.ostsee-zeitung.de/lokales/vorpommern-greifswald/weniger-studenten-starten-uni-gonservative-wollen-transport-in-city-stoppen-vl6bwyruarhblna6bcordj3h6i.html?womort=Greifswald" target = "_ blank" rel = "nofollow noopener noreferer"> reports www.ostsee-zeitung.de .Details | |
