Energy -free concert afternoon in the Greizer hospital inspires patients
a musical experience for the patients of the Greizer Hospital
In December 2023, a special concert took place in the Greizer Hospital, which not only took the patients but also the entire community movement. The Leipzig Salon, consisting of talented musicians, appeared to thank a member of the quartet who had to relax in the hospital for medical care. Under the direction of Dr. med. Jürgen Heyne, the chief physician of the clinic for general, vascular and visceral surgery, became an unforgettable afternoon.
The preparations and the concert drain
The musical performance began with a warm greeting by Dr. Heyne. Mr. Sebastian Ude, violinist and baritone saxophonist of the Gewandhaus Orchestra, introduced the audience to the event. This introduction created the perfect basis for the upcoming musical journey. With the "Gypsy Csárdás", the quartet opened the afternoon, followed by lively pieces such as the "Greetings to Budapest (Csárdás)" and the "Fiery Csárdás (Ala Zingara)".
The ensemble, consisting of Mr. Ude, Mr. Ingolf Barchmann (A-B-C and bass clarinet), Mr. Heiko Reintzsch (piano/Cajon) and Mr. Wolfram Stephan (violoncello), played with spraying energy and impressed everyone present with technical sophistication and specialism.
importance of the cultural events for the community
In the speech by the managing director of the Greizer Hospital, Mr. Ralf Delker, the words of thanks to the artists were pronounced. Ms. Martina Schweinsburg, the former district administrator, was also present and expressed her appreciation for the commitment of everyone involved. "This afternoon is a wonderful expression of joie de vivre," she noted, and her words underlined the importance of such cultural events for the patients and the community as a whole.
The meaning of music in healing
The concert "Alles Csárdás" showed impressively how music not only maintains, but also heals and conveys a feeling of community and joy. Such musical events are important to improve the quality of life during the hospital stay, as they offer distraction from everyday clinical life and create a connection between medicine and art. At the end of the concert, the listeners were enthusiastic and expressed the desire to repeat similar sonorous afternoons in the future.
